We’re seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician to join our Geology team and play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient delivery of Resource Definition programs. This position is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster, providing excellent work–life balance.

Reporting to the Senior Resource Definition Geologist, you’ll lead and mentor a team of Field Technicians, oversee daily task planning, and ensure quality execution of field activities across our operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong field leadership experience who enjoys working hands‑on, building capability in others, and contributing to high‑performing exploration programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision, task allocation and support to Field Technicians.
  • Maintain strong communication between geology teams, field crews and contractors.
  • Ensure all sampling, surveying and field data collection is completed safely, accurately and on schedule.
  • Oversee consumables, stock management and logistics for sampling and drilling programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and heritage requirements.
  • Support site preparation, rehabilitation activities and contractor management.
  • Coordinate sample dispatch, core yard activities and data entry processes.
  • Mentor, train and develop Field Technicians to build capability within the team.

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Field Assistant / Field Technician in mining or exploration environments.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations, sampling protocols and field safety.
  • Advanced GPS/DGPS surveying skills.
  • Experience managing rehabilitation activities and earthmoving contractors.
  • High level of communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach field teams.
